The word Polyamory is cropping up more and more in the daily conversations of people around the country. It is estimated that, as of July 2009, in the United States alone there are more than 500,000 polyamorous relationships in existence. As that data is now over 6 years old, I’d imagine that number has gone up exponentially, both because of the span of time and the joyous advancements that the U.S. has made in Sexual Rights freedoms. Our nation has began to look at the world with a newer and more open minded perspective and we find ourselves moving into an era of personal freedom. Polyamory is a confusing and controversial topic, but as it applies to me personally and will be a topic addressed occasionally on this blog I wanted to clarify what it was and what it means.
